At Newton, we prepare young women for lives of courage and confidence. Our program seeks a balance of a rigorous academic course of study, competitive athletics, a lively creative arts program, and the development of a girl’s moral and spiritual identity. Guided by the goals and criteria of Sacred Heart Schools, Newton is committed to a “financial aid program that effectively supports socioeconomic diversity.” To enable exceptionally gifted and motivated students without the resources to afford a Sacred Heart education, a group of committed parents, trustees and friends established the Scholars Program. Last year the Scholars Program assisted ten girls with their Sacred Heart education.
Program Goals and Commitments
• Newton Country Day School seeks to build a racially and economically diverse student body, which enhances the education of every girl.
• A strong financial aid program is central to the mission of a Sacred Heart school.
• The program is designed to help girls discover and develop the best in themselves, enabling them to transcend obstacles that could prevent attaining academic, personal, or professional success.
• As students, and later alumnae, girls can become role models to their peers and become leaders in their local communities and beyond.
Why Your Support is Important
• The financial aid program at Newton assists 28 percent of students each year.
• The goal of the program is to offer a ninth-grade student a four-year scholarship funded by the Scholars’ Program.
• A gift of $100,000 ($25,000 over four-years) will provide tuition for a deserving student at Newton.
