The Parent Giving program at Newton Country Day School incorporates both the Parents' Fund and the Senior Family Fund and accounts for 80 percent of the Annual Fund dollars. The Annual Fund supports essentials of a quality program: faculty salaries, library acquisitions, computers, science equipment, athletics and the arts. As in other independent schools, tuition alone does not cover the cost of a student’s education and annual fund gifts help to cover the difference between tuition income and the cost of a Sacred Heart education, a gap of nearly $5,000 per student

The Senior Family Fund is a longstanding tradition at Newton Country Day School. Each year, parents of the Senior Class make a significant, stretch gift to honor of their daughter's graduation and time at Newton Country Day School.

Parents' Fund and Senior Family Fund Volunteer job descriptions:

  • Lead by example. Make your Annual gift or pledge early in the fiscal year.
  • Solicit Annual Fund gifts from 10 - 15 parents.
  • Be an advocate and active fund-raiser for the Parents Fund or Senior Family Fund!
  • Send personal fund-raising letters, emails, and make calls from home throughout the year.
  • Encourage parent attendance to school events throughout the year.
  • Work closely with the Development Office staff to establish and achieve goals for the Annual Fund.
  • Attend volunteers meetings.

Being a parent giving volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and to feel like you are making a significant difference in your daughter’s school.
