Parents of the Class of 2012 enjoyed a festive Christmas reception that honored their years of commitment to Newton Country Day School and the mission of Sacred Heart education. Sister Rogers thanked the more than 60 parents attending for their involvement with their daughters’ activities, the service trips, sideline cheering at sporting events, their work with the Parents’ Association, the Auction, and Annual Fund phone-a-thons.
The Senior Family Fund Committee welcomed the parents of the Senior Class to the November 30 reception held in the beautifully decorated Blue Room. Parents enjoyed a display of pictures of the Class of 2012 that were taken across the girls’ academic years beginning with the fifth grade. They reveled in the long-standing Sacred Heart traditions their daughters enjoyed and newer happenings in their years at the school that included the groundbreaking for the Library, one of the first major events in the girls’ life at the school; the performances - plays, musicals, Shakespeare productions, Vespers, and Chorale trips; the addition of Daly Rink for the hockey teams, and the opportunity that access to the Charles River afforded the athletic program with the addition of varsity and novice crew.
“We’d like to thank the many of the parents of the Class of 2012 who came to celebrate our daughters and their time at Newton Country Day. It was a fantastic evening with a wonderful group of parents!” say Dr. George Barrett P’07’10’12 and Ms. Loretta Keane P’12, Senior Family Fund Committee co-chairs.
