Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart welcomes Mr. Timothy Lawlor as Director of Development. Mr. Lawlor worked at Stonehill College for more than twenty years in a variety of capacities including Assistant Vice President of Advancement, Director of Development, and Director of the Annual Fund. As Campaign Director for Stonehill College’s recent comprehensive fundraising initiative Attaining the Summit, Mr. Lawlor surpassed the goals of the campaign, ahead of schedule. This campaign was Mr. Lawlor’s second such successful capital campaign endeavor for the college. To his position at Newton Country Day, he brings an energetic and welcoming personality, effective communication skills, and a professional and strategic approach that will strengthen the educational mission of the school.
Prior to his years at Stonehill College, Mr. Lawlor was the Director of Sports Information at Brandeis University and at the University of Hartford. For the past five years he has sat on the Board of Directors of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District I. He is in his second year of a two-year term as CASE D1 Board Chair. Mr. Lawlor is a member of the Board of Trustees at Ursuline Academy where he chairs the Advancement Committee. He has shared his professional expertise in the wider community with Dedham Community House as a member of its Board of Directors and with Main Spring House/Brockton Coalition for the Homeless as a member of its Development Committee.
Mr. Lawlor received a BA in History from Stonehill College and he earned an M.Ed in Administration and Supervision from the University of Hartford. He lives in Dedham with his wife Jan and their two children.
